Blinds & Shutters Keep you Warm

Blinds and shutters are often used for keeping the heat out in the summer but did you know they are effective at keeping the heat in during the winter too?

Blinds and shutters act as an extra layer of insulation to glass. With single pane and old double glazing the effect will be most pronounced but even with the latest low-e glazing blinds and shutters can still help keep you warmer.

During the winter blinds should be raised to allow the sun’s rays through the glazing and closed again as the sun sets to keep the heat in. Motorisation and timers can make this energy saving measure automatic too.
