Tensile Structures / Shade Sails

Tensile structures are made using a material that is then pulled taut by being fixed permanently in position.

Tensile structures are more often used in commercial installations but are starting to be chosen by homeowners as a shading option.

Only certain fabrics are suitable for this type of application as the material must be able to retain its shape whilst under high tension. A variety of shaped shades can be created for these type of structures.

These fixed position shades can be used to dissipate heat and light providing a shady area to relax.

Materials used in this type of application are UV resistant, waterproof and easy to clean.

Tensile structures are also known as; Shade sails, fixed shade sails.
