Tensile Structures

Tensile structures are constructed using a material that is then pulled taut by being fixed permanently in position. These shades can be made in a wide range of shapes and styles.

With tensile structures only certain fabrics are suitable as the material used must be able to retain its shape whilst under high tension.

Similarly the structure the shade is affixed to and the fixings used must be carefully considered so that they can support the forces required to hold the shade safely and securely in its place.

These fixed position shades can be used to dissipate heat and light in rooflight and atria areas and can also be fitted externally.
