Residential Wood Venetian Blinds
A popular choice for many rooms around the house.
Design
Wood venetian blinds are made with wood slats typically in widths of 15mm, 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm. There is an ever-expanding range of colours, patterns and finishes including styles with no holes in the slats for enhanced light control.
Operation
Venetian blinds can be operated manually using cords and wands but can also be operated using low voltage 24V DC motors for just tilting of the slats or raising and lowering the actual blind. The slats can be tilted so they are anywhere from fully open to fully closed, as well as the blind being raised and lowered.
Window blind safety
The BBSA recommends using blinds which do not contain operating cords or chains, or which have concealed tensioned cords. These products are ‘safe by design’ and are widely available. For more information visit www.makeitsafe.org.uk.
Comfort and energy saving
On top of providing privacy and shading, heat reflective coatings can be added to enhance energy efficiency. The louvres can be tilted to control the amount of light and heat entering the room or can be fully closed for privacy. For more information contact your local BBSA member.
