Residential External Roller Blinds

A contemporary shading option for all types of glazing.

Design

The fabric range on external rollers is extensive – from open mesh screen fabrics which maintain an external view, to more densely woven acrylic fabrics used on traditional awnings.

When the blind is not in use it is contained in a headbox so the fabric is protected. When deployed, the blind runs in side channels to stop it buffeting in the wind.

Operation

These blinds can be operated with a gearbox which is operated with a detachable handle or an electric motor. Motorisation is also an option.

Opting to install sun and wind sensors means the blind will retract when it is too windy or close when a certain temperature is reached to keep the internal temperature low.

Comfort and energy saving

External shading is more effective at reducing summer heat gains than internal shading in most circumstances. For more information contact your local BBSA member.
