Design
Dutch Blinds come in a myriad of shapes and sizes – either retractable or rigid depending on the measurement and style of any individual requirements. The extrusion can also be formed into a variety of attractive curved shapes.
A vast range of colours and fabrics are available. Acrylic fabrics are the most popular as there are more patterns available and are suitable for both fixed and retractable. PVC fabrics are most suitable for retractable blinds as there is a risk of creasing.
The framework is constructed from silver anodised aluminium extrusion which can be powder coated in different colours. The extrusion takes a PVC insert to which the fabric of choice is attached.
The wrap around design provides shading even as the sun moves from one side of the garden to the other protecting your carpets and furnishings from fading in the sunlight while helping to cool the room.
Operation
A retractable Dutch canopy is generally operated with a cord and pulley system secured to a cleat. On larger blinds there are alternative methods – either a gear and winding handle or motorisation with a motor and remote-control handset.
Comfort and energy saving
