Commercial Cellular Blinds

Stylish and noise-reducing.

Design

Cellular blinds are a type of pleated blind where the fabric folds – or concertinas – up when the blind is retracted. When the blind is down and viewed from the side, this cellular fabric looks like a honeycomb structure. This allows the inner cords of the blind to pass through the fabric and not be visible on either side of the blind.

Cellular fabrics typically come in 25mm pleats and in a wide range of colours. Some have a blackout lining – with no holes in the fabric these make for an effective dim-out blind.

Operation

Like many blind styles, cellular blinds can be manually or electrically operated using low voltage motors.

Window blind safety

The BBSA recommends using blinds which do not contain operating cords or chains, or which have concealed tensioned cords. These products are ‘safe by design’ and are widely available. For more information visit www.makeitsafe.org.uk.

Comfort and energy saving

The space created between the front and back faces of the fabric acts as an insulating layer which means cellular blinds are a good solution for retaining heat in the winter and rejecting it in the summer.

These blinds also have noise-reducing properties, perfect for if you’re looking to reduce noise in a loud area.
