Louvre Arrays
Perfect for shading several glazing panels.
Design
This form of shading is fitted outside of the recess of the glazing to cover a number of panels. Arms are fitted to the glazing bars and aluminium or wood slats are fitted to the arms. The slats can be cut to fit shaped glazing and cut-outs can be accommodated to allow windows to open.
Operation
Moveable louvre arrays can be operated with a gearbox via a detachable winding handle or with motorisation. This system can also be fitted externally to ‘lean to’ conservatories. The slats can be tilted to obtain the required amount of shade – from fully open to fully closed – but cannot be retracted.
Fixed louvre arrays cannot be operated.
The slats on both options can be removed to make window cleaning easier.
Window blind safety
Louvre arrays are usually out of reach and do not contain operating cords or chains. These products are ‘safe by design’ and are widely available. For more information visit www.makeitsafe.org.uk.
Comfort and energy saving
Louvre arrays will help keep your inside space warm in the winter and cool in the summer. While the moveable options are more versatile and offer more control over how much light is allowed in, the fixed option will still provide a good level of shading.
